Pastoral charge of S Chad

Rev Adrian Burdon is on sabbatical, and Rev Ian Coverdale has now taken over pastoral charge until September when our new minister Rev Dr Kennedy Gondongwe begins

The Welcome Service for
Rev Dr Kennedy Gondongwe

will be held at S Chad on Sunday 4th September at 7pm

The service will be followed by tea / coffee and cakes

Rev Dr Kennedy Gondongwe will join the Oldham Circuit in September 2022, with oversight of South Chadderton, Fir Lane and Gravelhole Methodist Churches.

He is from Zimbabwe, is 49 years old and married to Patricia and they have
two daughters aged 24 and 14.

Kennedy is highly experienced and has been a minister since 2001 and his current
role involves training ministers; he has previous experience as a school chaplain,
lecturer, vice principal and a superintendent with a focus on mission.

Please pray for safe travel from Zimbabwe for Kennedy and his family in mid August, and that they settle into their new home and the communities of South Chadderton, Fir Lane and Gravelhole, and the Oldham Circuit in general,.

New Church Stewards

The following members were elected as Church Stewards at the Annual Church Meeting on 12th June.
Mike Brierley, Jennie Gilpin, Bev Jones, Christina Potts and Carol Shepherdson.

The following members were elected as Representatives to Church Council 
at the Annual Church Meeting.
Luton Edghill, Alan Heywood, Sybil Lamb, and Christina Potts
Pauline Jackson (from 2019), Carol Shepherdson (from 2018) were re-elected.

S Chad is looking for people to fill the following important roles in church soon as possible.

  • Publicity Officer (both producing the notices and maintaining the website)
  • Assistant Treasurer
  • Safeguarding Officer
  • Data Protection Officer
  • Welcomers
