‘God’s Table: An Invitation to All’
‘God’s Table: An Invitation for All’
is the theme adopted by the Methodist Conference President, Sonia Hicks
and Vice President, Barbara Easton, for their year of office 2021-22.
The Manchester and
is hosting a Zoom gathering to ask the question –
Is the table open to all? Monday 18th October 7:30-9pm
are the barriers that prevent people from accessing it – structural,
cultural or attitudinal – are they preventing everyone from fully
participating and flourishing within our churches?
is your experience within society at large and the Methodist Church in
particular? Have you been able to share your stories? Are there things
that have helped you to understand the issues better – books, films
you could recommend for example?

Help needed with Live
Streaming the Sunday Service

Help needed with Tea
and Coffee after the Sunday Service
As we are now serving tea and coffee after the service
again, we need
folk to serve and clear up. This was previously done by
groups but as some are not meeting or are depleted at the moment
may be easier to have a rota of individuals to do this. It would
only mean once every few weeks if enough people volunteer. It
a couple of people would like to offer for a particular date,
otherwise we will create a rota!
If you would like to help please speak to Sybil or Pauline. Thank you.

S Chad through Stewardship
Many members support S Chad
financially through regular giving via our Stewardship Account.
Some have also used the give.net site to make single gifts to
church. However Stewardship have now retired the give.net site as
of the end of April and introduced an updated system via the
button above which goes direct to the Stewardship S Chad Account
This new button (above and also at the bottom of each page of our
website), can also be used to set up regular monthly giving to S
Chad as well as for one-off donations.

YOUTH AND FAMILIES
National Estate Churches Network is looking for people who
are passionate about working with children, youth and
families on estates to join its new work-stream group,
which will help to shape the support NECN offers in this
vital area. The group will help to:
- map (or even create) resources that are
appropriate for estate settings
- influence how NECN responds to current issues
– including through the creation of social media,
blogs and other online content
- ensure that the NECN exec is kept well
informed with regards to good practice and up to date
news concerning ministry to children, young people and
families on estates.
If you are interested in being part of this exciting new team,
please contact the work-stream chair, Lynne
Norman to express your interest.
