The Salt Cellar Restaurant will permanently close its doors at the end of January after over 30 years of serving Oldham town centre.

The Salt Cellar Executive reluctantly made the decision to close at a meeting in December and this was approved at the January Circuit Meeting.
The Executive would like to thank all those who have volunteered or supported the Salt Cellar's work over the years.

Every day through January the Methodist Church in Britain is posting a simple daily challenge that resonates with what it means to live A Methodist Way of Life. You can join in on its social media channels via the addresses below:

Alys Whittle
It was with great sadness that we reported last week that Alys died on Christmas Day. Her family said it would have meant so much to her to go to be with her Lord on his earthly birthday.

Alys’ funeral will take place at S Chadderton Methodist Church at 10am on Wednesday 9th February, followed at 11am at Hollinwood Crematorium.

Please continue to keep her daughter Kath and son John and their families in your prayers.

CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES ON ESTATES

The National Estate Churches Network is looking for people who are passionate about working with children, youth and families on estates to join its new work-stream group, which will help to shape the support NECN offers in this vital area. The group will help to:

  • map (or even create) resources that are appropriate for estate settings
  • influence how NECN responds to current issues – including through the creation of social media, blogs and other online content
  • ensure that the NECN exec is kept well informed with regards to good practice and up to date news concerning ministry to children, young people and families on estates.

If you are interested in being part of this exciting new team, please contact the work-stream chair, Lynne Norman to express your interest.
