Oldham Night Shelter Project

Last winter volunteers from 7 Oldham churches came together in the Oldham Night Shelter Project for 3 months to provide overnight shelter and care for homeless in a number of churches around the borough.
In a new development this year the project is based in a single venue, Impact Community Church
and will run from October 2019 - June 2020
The project will also link with the Mayor of Manchester’s ABEN (A Bed For Every Night) scheme
.

Impact is on Byron Street, Hollinwood OL8 4QT

Even though the shelter is now based at one location, it is a project that we hope will be backed and supported by the wider church community across Oldham - in fact without the goodwill of volunteers we will not be able to sustain the shelter.

If you would be willing to give some time as a volunteer at the shelter please sign up on the volunteer forms on the church lounge table.

Thank you

Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal 2019

Thanks again to all who supported OCC in 2018

If you have not supported this previously the idea is to fill an empty shoebox with gifts for a child which
can include toys, school supplies, hygiene items and maybe a hat, scarf or gloves.

If you wish to support the appeal
this year,
leaflets entitled 'How to Pack a Shoebox' are available from the
table in the church lounge.
The leaflets include a full list of acceptable items and also labels to
identify the age and gender the box is for.
You are also asked, if possible, to include a donation of £5.00 to cover shipment
costs etc.

Filled boxes may be brought to
church any Sunday up to Sunday, 17th November 2019.

Whilst standard shoeboxes covered with Christmas paper, as in the past, are quite acceptable,
this year OCC has provided some colourful boxes which you can also
use.
Please see Allan Gibson if you would like one.
