This week please
BOLDLY pray:

Monday 16th 
 for the young boys and their football coach who were rescued from the caves in Thailand,
 that they will receive all the help they need to
overcome their ordeal.
Give thanks also for those who rescued them.

Tuesday 17th
for Ian, Jill and their daughters as they holiday in Devon

Wednesday 18th
for the leaders, helpers and youngsters of Play Group, Tots’  Time and the Brigades 
as this is their last week before the summer holiday.

Thur
sday 19th
for young people who are looking for employment.

Friday 20th
for God’s blessings on three members of the church family

Saturday 21st
for any of the church family and others you know who are unwell at the moment, 
especially those with long term conditions

Sunday 22nd
the people and families who live on Summercroft and Thompson Lane.

The Revd Michaela Youngson and Bala Gnanapragasam 

were inducted as President and Vice-President at the Methodist Conference 
in Nottingham on Saturday 30 June 2018

Michaela Youngson has been one of the Chairs of the London District since 2012. With a passion for social justice and for developing strong ecumenical relationships, Michaela is committed to working within the diverse and rich context of the Connexion. She is a regular contributor to the BBC Radio 2 Early Breakfast Show's 'Pause for Thought'.

Bala Gnanapragasam believes strongly in mission and social justice. He serves on the board of Christian Aid and MHA (formerly known as Methodist Homes for the Aged), and is also a trustee of the London HIV/Aids Chaplaincy. Born in Sri Lanka, Bala came to the UK in the 1960s. He has previously served as a councillor for Lewisham and as the Chair of University Hospital Lewisham.


The next Boaz shop collection will be on Sunday 22nd July 
(for the shop on Wednesday 25th)

Calling all Women – an evening specially for you to be

FREE to BE

Care for the Family is a charity which promotes strong family life. 
As part of their
activities they are holding a tour of evenings for women of all ages 
but especially those
with families, called Free to Be

The tour is in Manchester on 
Wednesday October 17th @ The Life Centre, Washway Road, Sale M33 4BP 

This is an opportunity to have an evening out and to hear about what God has in store for women and mothers

September 9th POP Party! is arriving on the All Age Sundays 

when the younger members of our church family will meet for an adventure!



Who Let the Dads Out?’is a programme run by the Bible Reading Fellowship (BRF), 
which resources churches to develop their ministries to dads, father
figures and their children. 
Its training days equip church leaders, workers and
volunteers (both male and female) 
to get to grips with why and how
to connect to men – 
wherever they are on their journey of fatherhood and faith.

The days run from 10am to 4pm. Cost is £10, which includes course materials.

Operating on the seven principles of movement, repetition, our voices, spirituality, church, learning and our emotions, Diddy Disciples is a website (www.diddydisciples.org) that offers worship and storytelling resources
for
babies, toddlers and very young children. 
The website includes four free
sample sessions and help engaging the very young 
with the Thy Kingdom
Come prayer movement.


Oldham Night Shelter

Would you be willing to help in an Oldham Night Shelter next Winter?

Following a pilot scheme last winter it is hoped to extend this initiative to other
venues which will need to be staffed by volunteers. If you would consider being
involved please download (here) and complete the form and return to the address on the form.
This would only be an expression of interest and not imply a definite commitment.

Volunteers normally do one Monday per month between 11am and 2pm.
