Re-opening Church
Leadership had been working towards the re-opening of church in early September
assuming the approval of a proposed Open Church Meeting on 20th August.
However with the new lockdown measures and uncertainty of the position plus guidance from District, that meeting has now been postponed. As soon as we know any further details we will communicate them, but, as through this whole pandemic, the priority is to keep everyone safe.

Ian Heath is on annual leave from 1st - 18th August.
Please pray that he and Jill have a peaceful and refreshing holiday.

If you need to contact church or in an emergency whilst Ian is on leave,
please contact a member of the Leadership Team

Stuart and Abby Samuels

Stuart, our former Youth and Children’s worker at S Chad, has been accepted for ordination training for the Church of England at Trinity College, Bristol.
He will be
following a one year course, starting mid September, and he and Abby will be living in a house owned by Trinity for their time there.

We pray for God’s blessing and provision as they begin a new chapter of their journey together following Jesus.

God for All

The Methodist Conference has voted overwhelmingly to implement a new Church-wide strategy
for Evangelism and Growth. The
God for All strategy commits the Church theologically, culturally, and financially to deepen its mission to be a growing, evangelistic, justice-seeking,
and inclusive Church.

The strategy is the result of a year-long consultation across the Connexion involving more than one hundred large groups and thousands of individual conversations with leaders, practitioners, and ecumenical partners.

In the context of declining Methodist Church membership numbers, God for All prioritises helping new people become disciples of Jesus, starting hundreds of new churches, and raising up new lay and ordained leaders to join God in engaging diverse rural, urban, estate, and suburban communities across Britain. The strategy also focuses significant energy and resources on developing the role of young evangelists, serving communities experiencing marginalisation, expanding the Church’s digital presence, and helping Methodists live out their
faith in everyday life.

God for All will launch in September with a focused Year of Prayer that will offer
the Church’s work to God.

Giving for S Chad throughout Covid-19

An update from Allan Gibson

As you cannot attend church at the moment, your weekly donations to church may be kept to one side and put in the collection when the church re-opens to everyone.  Some who use offering envelopes may have already chosen to fill/seal each week's envelope during lockdown and intend to submit multiple envelopes when the church re-opens.
Others may have put money aside and intend to put it in a single offering envelope when normal Sunday worship re-commences.

Many already give to church through a monthly standing order /direct debit; lockdown has already resulted in an increase in gifts by this route.  If you are interested in setting up monthly giving via your bank account, please contact Allan on: 0161 627 1961 or email: for further information.
