House Groups

Below will be a short piece on each of the House Groups (currently being updated).. The groups vary in style and numbers and are open to anyone. You can “taste and see' if you feel you would like to come along to one.

Oasis

Oasis is a group of ladies who meet each Tuesday evening at 7.30pm in close proximity to Church. The evening is spent in worship, bible study and prayer.

We all have a good sense of humour so we have lots of fun and enjoy our time together. On occasions when someone is going through a difficult time we spend the evening supporting them in love and prayer. We thank God for the fellowship and friendship we share. We are all involved in various ministries within Church, in this way sharing Gods love with our local community.

If you want to know more about our group please contact Shirley Cooke Tel: 652 2969 or speak to one of the church stewards.

N Chad Fellowship

North Chad Fellowship  meets fortnightly on at 8pm on Wednesdays . It is a continuation of a group led for many years by Derek & Joan Simmons, and as well as some S Chad folk, has usually included some people from other churches (a couple at present). We generally work through a book of the bible, in some depth. Some of us lead in turn and prepare using commentaries etc, giving an analysis of the passage which leads into discussion and application. We finish with a time of prayer and then refreshments! We are a smallish group and would welcome new members.

24/7 currently has 14 members and meets at Pam & Tony's house in Chadderton. We  recently organized the church Alpha course and God really blessed everyone during those sessions. We supported each other as we carried out our various roles and this strengthened relationships within the group. Sharing, caring and praying is how we grow together as Christians and we have a group on our phones which means we can respond to urgent prayer needs during the week. You could say we are connected 24/7...… We are currently doing the Exodus
studies.

Barachah   (Barachah means Blessing - 2 Chronicles 20:26)

Barachah is a group of 6, that meets at Carol Shepherdson’s home every Tuesday at 7.30pm. At the moment we are studying “Women of the Bible” finding out things we had never known before, and it is certainly causing us to study the Word before we meet. For a time we were down to 3 and had been praying as to whether we should lay the group down. But the Lord sent 3 more, and as he so often does, when you let him lead, he has knit us together so quickly that we can say with confidence our 'hope is built on nothing less.'

Please speak to Linda Kendrick, Christina Potts or Carol Shepherdson for more details.

Tirzah (name of a town in northern Israel noted for its beauty)

Tirzah meets on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm at 38 Scholes Street. There are usually 9 of us who are led mainly by Graham Radcliffe. We start each evening by sharing information and concerns, whilst having a drink and light refreshment. Following this we pray on the things we have shared and then move on to our study material. Over the past seven weeks we have been studying different types of prayer, these sessions being led by Paul Shepherdson. The meeting ends in prayer at approximately 9.00pm.

Acorn Fellowship

Acorn Fellowship meets in Lees, in the home of Carole and Jack Higginson. There are 8 members at the moment and we are following the Bible Studies on Exodus. We have a short time of worship before the study and finish with a time of prayer. All are welcome to join us. Contact Carole if you would like more details.

“Be joyful, grow in maturity, encourage one another, live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.” 2 Corinthians 13:11

Kaleidoscope Fellowship

Five of us meet on a Wednesday evening at Rachel & Dave's house in Springhead for a couple of hours. We generally follow the studies suggested and often enjoy an in depth conversation about the Bible passage we're looking at. At the moment the group are supporting Dave and Rachel while Dave is candidating for the Ministry.
