3Generate 2019 | 22-24 November at Pontins, Southport

3Generate is an action-packed and inspiring weekend for hearing the voice of children and young people across the Methodist Church, focussing on fun, faith and friends. To see what happens visit our YouTube channel 3GenerateTV.

Bookings for the event have now opened and tickets have been selling well!

To ensure this year's event is a success and to offer the children and young people who attend the best possible experience, lots of volunteers are needed to help in many different ways, for example:

- Chalet hosts, offering hospitality and support in the accommodation blocks
- Roving youth team, providing pastoral care to children and young people
- Stewards, to keep an eye on the site - working either the day or the night shif
- Venue teams, helping to deliver the smooth running of the programme in one of our venues
- Set-up/take-down, giving practical support with making the venue as exciting and attractive as
possible ahead of the event - or helping to pack everything away afterwards...
… and many more! Please do consider what you might be able
to offer, or ask others you know to think about volunteering their time. Or simply book your place to attend.

Saturday 28th September at The Edge
Riveredge, Wigan, WN3 5AB - 9.20am to 4.45pm

The Playtime National Conference, run by Care for the Family, gives us that chance to take a step back, gather together and dream big for the year ahead. It will offer us creative and fresh ideas for teaching and unpacking Bible stories and an insight on how we can share faith with families in our groups.

The line up includes some fantastic speakers such as
Rob Parsons
,
Katherine Hill, Bob Hartman,
OneWay Puppets UK and Mark Chester
(Who Let the Dads Out).
There will also be an extensive choice of workshops, such as:

The importance of dads in our groups
How do we respond effectively to a child’s difficult behaviour
How can we support families who are struggling with mental health issues.
How to support parents in helping their children nurture a faith that lasts

The day will include time to worship, share and pray together as well as providing an exhibition zone and shop packed with resources. Lunch and refreshments are all included.

So, whether you are involved with our young people by being part of one of their groups, helping lead services or just want to know how we can begin to develop one of the above areas more fully why not sign up.

We are hoping a group of us can go so that we can share transport and reduce costs.

If
you are interested then please speak to Ruth Radcliffe, Claire Ogden or Lucy Brierley
or sign up on the sheet in the church lounge

Redeeming Our Communities

ROC’s main aim is to bring about community transformation by creating strategic partnerships between statutory agencies, voluntary groups and churches. These partnerships form new volunteer-led projects that address a variety of social needs.

We have over 150 partnership projects, including active projects and those at the planning stage, meeting a variety of social needs. South Chad is one such partner in that we are seeking ways, with ROC's help, to bless and transform the communities we serve with other churches and agencies. Many will remember Andy Bell who has set up the ROC Restore programme in Oldham to support and empower victims of crime as well as hopefully bringing about positive change in both their own lives as well as those who have perpetrated a crime against them.
