Following the Annual Display and Presentation in May the Junior Section took part in the Festival of Fun held at Kirkham in June.

In July we had our summer camp at the Great Tower in the Lakes with numerous outdoor activities enjoyed by all. The weather was hot and sunny apart from the last two days and we are looking forward to going again this year.

September 2018 – May 2019

Our company has a full programme of activities which suit each age group from 5yrs to 18yrs.

Anchors (5 to 8yrs) have a fun night of mainly games, craft and some badge work under the leadership of Elaine Kenyon and Joanne Greaves with 8 boys and girls.

Juniors (8 to 11yrs) have a more challenging programme of games, craft and badge work under the leadership of Paul Shepherdson, Margaret Heywood, Stuart Samuels, Amanda Mallitt and Jackie Longdin with 14 boys and girls.

The Company Section have 14 boys and girls with a busy programme of badge work, band and physical activities under the leadership of Barry Cook, Kate Anchor, Jess Lewis, Peter Anchor, Mike Kendrick, Dawn Mallitt, Esther Jagger and Ruth Hart.

Four Seniors attended a Queen’s Badge part one course at Kirkham.

In December the Juniors enjoyed a trip to the Pantomime at St Herberts.

In February Jackie Longdin and Stuart Samuels attended a weekend course to become Lieutenants in the Company. Also in February the Company and Senior sections enjoyed an evening of Ten-Pin Bowling in Rochdale.

We have had two Battalion competitions, our Junior Section came joint winners with the 1st Rochdale Company in the games competition and our Company and Senior sections won the Battalion Challenge Trophy.

Our Seniors will be attending the Manchester Battalion Parade at Manchester Cathedral and we are hoping to take part in a bag pack at Tesco, Chadderton.

Wednesday nights are very busy with 50 young people and staff and long may it continue.

As a church we thank all the youngsters and staff for their hard work and commitment to this important work to advance Christ’s Kingdom in Chadderton.

Please pray regularly for this important work amongst our young people.
